GAIJIN

A kimono-clad gaijin lady sits upon an oriental bench surrounded by items depicting the strong influences felt all over the world by oriental technology, styles and superstition.

The large blazing circle--the sun, as Japan is known as "the Land of the Rising Sun".  Lotus blossoms float in the whirlwind created by the industrialization of the Far East.  The city skylines represent the new gleaming cities of the orient from which the yellow road representing prosperity flows through the painting; a fan spreads out again reflecting the bridging of countries throughout the world through economic melding.  The dragon clutching a pearl in it's paw (known in oriental mythology as the "treasure dragon"), stands guard over a bed of pearls.
